wooo hoo! i don't need surgery. the podiatrist took several x-rays and let me know that "we could- but i don't think we need to..." ahhhhh- what a relief! i now am a proud owner of a big black cast. it shrouds the broken 2nd metatarsal and the sprained ankle. back to work tomorrow where i walk the walk of shame and try to focus with elevated foot and vicodin bliss.
