i dislike being sick-- very, very, much. i am finally coming around as of today... just in time for a new work week. hmm. i got really sad and out of it on saturday...the phases of being sick are so predictable every freaking time... but somehow, history repeats itself with each cold or flu.

1. there is that little scratch in the back of your throat accompanying a little sniffle or sneeze... a bit of achy ness all over your body----'oh no,' you think to yourself... "could I? no, i couldn't be.. hmmm but just in case, let me stock up on the OJ."

2. "damn! i am." damn damn!-- okay--- here we go... call in sick if i can.

3. its really here, new pack of tissues, packages of cold and sinus, severe cold, robitussin DM, water bottles, cran-apple, vitamin C-- movies stacked up... HBO has the lamest stuff on during the day, and then they play it again all night.

4. Okay-- have to go back to work... load up on all that cold suppressant stuff... oh yes, drugged, spacey, speedy, dehydrated.... laughter, and cynicism.... should i really drive home?

5. its friday-- i can make it through this one... maybe, and perhaps-- could i be getting better? still sneezing, eyes watering... just make it through today, and the weekend will cradle me.

6. HOW COULD SATURDAY FEEL WORSE THAN FRIDAY??? its depressing really... will i be sick forever? when will i feel like me again?

7. and sunday. brilliant. coffee. sun. i see some light at the end of the tunnel... take some more cold pills and fake it... get out of the house... have some lunch.

8. monday morning. smiles. sniffle. feeling better, a little chipper.

that cycle almost kills me. where you get to the point where your mind is so done being sick, and your body is not up to par, or even under par.

good luck this cold and flu season. I recommend prescription Claritin followed by the robitussin DM... a great combo.
