the weather

there were a lot of things i wanted to write about tonight... but, at this exact moment, i cannot remember not a one. so i have decided to write about the weather.see, here in southern california, we don't have much "weather," in the full meaning of the east coast or mid-west term "weather."
when i woke up this morning, it was like every other morning. a slight dim light through the blinds, just enough to help the body awaken to the day ahead.
once i pulled the car out of the garage, i saw them; clouds of a possible storm front. i hadn't watched the news or the forecast, so it was delightful to anticipate some type of weather different than the everyday beautiful (boring) sunlight of southern ca.
when i got to work, stepped on the elevator, the newsflash on the monitor told of 'storms,'... oOo! LOVELY! possible rain, i thought to myself. (you see, even when the forecast predicts rain, it rarely rains, it just dwells on the idea and then passes it by.) anyhow, by lunch i ventured to get a bowl of soup. the wind was howling and large gray clouds moved with conviction across the sky.
on my way back to the office, i caught some... yes, rain drops! yay! i smiled and watched familiar tree branches sway in ways they had never shown before. it was slightly chilly.
my afternoon was blessed with excitement of pending storms... how i wished it would thunder in these here parts, and even some lightening would be nice. someone said to me, "you look excited that it is raining..." i replied, "yes, i am, its gorgeous, don't you get tired of the california sun?"
its mischief night. have you caused any?
