do i even have anything to say tonight?

i don't think so. i will leave you with some quotes:

Totalitarianism depends on the bored masses in society, atomized individuals, becoming part of a movement for movement's sake. "Totalitarian movements are mass organizations of atomized, isolated individuals. Compared with all other parties and movements, their most conspicuous external characteristic is their demand for total, unrestricted, unconditional, and unalterable loyalty of the individual member" (Arendt 323). This movement seeks complete uniformity of masses. Without the support of mass individualized, atomized people, the perpetual movement of totalitarianism could not happen. "The practical goal of the movement is to organize as many people as possible within its framework and to set and keep them in motion; a political goal that would constitute the end of the movement simply does not exist" (Arendt 326). The organization of mass people can occur through the utilization of technology via mass media.

Kroker and Weinstein's proclamations are characteristic of a science fiction thriller: Visions of a society strapped in virtual gear, passively waiting for their death, superfluous bodies exploited and liquidated around the world, technocracy, made up of elitist values controlling a virtual public, in a virtual dimension. Masses are controlled from their homes, steered by propaganda in the direction of seclusion and pacification, within a totally simulated environment. What "Data Trash" attempts to unfold is a future of virtual reality void of public space, political action, democratic participation and the virtual human's incapacity to live life in a real world.
